SOLSTICE/WINTERRUPTION

Just a quick update from the farm.

Our Solstice Cider has to have a name change this year.

An (unnamed) brewery has threatened and challenged us with legal action on the use of the word "Solstice" on product label.

Ridiculous we know.

We were actually told that there was confusion (on the part of consumers) between our hard apple cider and their beer (which used the word "solstice" in their product name)... that folks were purchasing cider when they really thought they were buying beer.

Well, we give you much more credit than that..

Rather than engage is fruitless and time-wasting legalities, we changed the name of our cider to Winterruption.

It is the same cider we've always offered. With the familiar J.K. Farm label... just the name has been changed.

Note: Being frugal (as all small farms and orchards need to be nowadays), we will be shipping initial bottles of our 1012 Winter Cider with the old "Solstice" label in order to "use them up" before switching to the new label.
